Fibre Optic Cabling in Godmanchester
Godmanchester is a historic town with a character all of its own - Roman origins, a tightly packed old centre, and some striking Georgian and Victorian properties that need careful internal cabling work to bring their networks up to modern standards.
Properties in Godmanchester's older streets often have thick lime-mortared or rubble walls, with floor plans that spread across multiple rooms rather than upwards. Getting a reliable wireless signal across a long, narrow Georgian townhouse is genuinely difficult, and the usual answer - a mesh system - still relies on wireless backhaul that loses performance at every hop. Fibre optic cabling between floors and rooms removes that bottleneck entirely.
The town also sits close to Huntingdon and benefits from good ISP connectivity, so the internal infrastructure is often the limiting factor, not the broadband line itself. We assess the property layout before recommending a cabling route, and in Godmanchester that often means creative use of existing voids and chimney routes to keep the work tidy.
What you get
- A look at the building before we quote, so the figure is based on what is actually there.
- A free written quote, with what is included and what is not.
- Work planned around the people using the building.
- A walk-through at handover and the documents for what was installed.
What is not included
Written down on the quote, so nothing on this list turns up later as a surprise.
- The internet line itself. That stays with your broadband or leased line provider, and we work with whatever you have.
- Building work such as new ceilings or redecorating. If a cable route needs it, the quote says so.
- Day-to-day support for your computers and laptops. That is your IT provider's job, and we are happy to work alongside them.
